A State Department spokesman clarified that no new contracts running with the Turkish Defense Industry would be signed or renewed.
“Currently, current, valid, and incomplete export licenses are not affected by this action (CAATSA sanctions). No new export licences or other authorisations will be issued naming the Turkish Defence Industry as a contracting party. This includes amendments to agreements already approved and permits following previously approved agreements,” the State Department spokesman noted.
